SanRoc. How to choose the right size in open or closed sandals.

Sandalias SanRoc de Feroz, abiertas y cerradas

The SanRoc boots are one of our most authentic creations 😎 . Designed from scratch, almost like a work of engineering 🏗️ , and improved season after season, today they are a summer essential 🌴 for many fierce moms.

Starting from the same structure, we have developed versions with a closed toe for greater protection and more open models, perfect for the hottest days of summer.

❓ But we know that, being a different type of footwear than closed shoes, and with different features between models, you might have questions about how they fit and what size to choose. That's why, in this post, we'll explain how SanRoc sandals fit and how to make a confident choice depending on the model you select for your little one. Let's get started!

🧐 SanRoc shoes fit a little differently

SanRoc sandals have a unique feature you should be aware of: their internal usable space is between 3 and 4 millimeters shorter than that of our closed shoe models . In other words, even if the size is the same, the fit may feel tighter or looser depending on the specific SanRoc model you choose.

But don't worry, this doesn't mean they'll be too small or that you should automatically change sizes. It all depends on the type of SanRoc sandal you choose.
First of all, since your little one's feet grow at lightning speed ⚡ , we advise you to measure their foot before the first use with our SanRoc size guide.

    If the sandal is open…

    open Sanroc sandal

In open-toe models (like Oliva, Gandía, and Saler ), you can maximize the interior space considerably. Why? Because your foot can occupy the entire usable area , as there's no stop at the front. Furthermore, all Sanroc models feature a 5mm rubber rim that protects the toes from impacts and abrasions, so even if your foot reaches the very edge, it will remain protected.

💡 Conclusion : If your child is half or at the end of a size in closed shoes (between 8-4mm margin to the toe), you can choose the same size in SanRoc's open models.

    If the sandal is closed…

    closed sandal sanroc

However, in models with a closed toe (such as Calpe and Denia ), it is very important to respect the safety margin that we recommend in closed footwear: at least 4 mm between the toes and the tip of the sandal .

Therefore, if your child is already halfway through or at the end of their current closed shoe size, we advise you to go up one size in SanRoc closed shoe models.

💡 Conclusion : If you're at the beginning of your closed shoe size, you can use the same size in closed SanRoc shoes . But if you're at the middle or end of your size, it's best to go up a size to ensure the necessary margin .

And because there's nothing better than a practical example... We present to you Manolito 🧒.

🔹 What happens if you choose an open model (Oliva, Gandía, Saler)?
👉 You can use size 24 , as your foot can take up all the usable space.

🔹 What if you choose a closed model (Calpe, Denia)?
👉 You need a size 25 , to respect the minimum margin of 4 mm between the fingers and the toe.

    In summary…

Type of sandal Models How do they fit? What size should I choose?
Open Oliva, Gandía, Saler The foot can occupy the entire usable insole. If the child is between the middle and end of a size → SAME size as closed shoe
Closed Calpe, Denia There must be at least 4 mm between the fingers and the toe. If your child is at the beginning of a size range → SAME size. If they are in the middle or at the end of a size range → GO UP a size at SanRoc.

We hope this guide helps you choose the right size for your SanRoc boots with more confidence. And if you still have any questions, you know you can write to us. We'd be delighted to help you find the perfect fit! 😻

    Zapato Feroz

    Feroz

Barefoot footwear for babies, kids and adults. We design shoes that give feet, movement and every stage of the journey the space they need: flexible soles, wide toe boxes, lightweight construction and no unnecessary restrictions.

We started with one simple idea: the foot comes before the shoe. That’s why we work alongside health professionals, design in Spain, manufacture in Portugal and keep production close to home, using quality materials and following one clear principle: protect without interfering.

Because moving freely isn’t a trend. It’s a way to grow.
